Lily Pad Trail

After visiting the American Museum of Natural History on a weekend NYC trip, I was inspired by the dreamy display of a raccoon in it's natural habitat. Typically raccoons are seen rummaging through dumpsters and scampering throughout streets in the city, but I loved the peaceful scene portrayed in this display.

I couldn't stop thinking about the blues in that scene, and when I got home I created this illustration to reimagine the display as a character illustration for a children's book.
